2020 Mexican Riviera Quilt Cruise

Dear quilters and friends,

2020 brings us back to the fabulous Mexican Riviera with a highly anticipated itinerary! We have partnered with The Paper Pieces Company of Paducah, Kentucky, to bring you this exclusive Paper Piecing cruise. If you have ever wanted to learn more about English Paper Piecing (EPP), this is the opportunity of a lifetime! We'll sail on one of Holland America Line's newest ships, the beautiful ms Koningsdam, roundtrip out of San Diego, California.

Quilting and "sewcializing"

You'll be part of a warm group of fun-loving people who share a common interest in quilting. You'll have the pleasure of making new friends, one quilter at a time! "Sewcial" activities include a "Welcome Aboard" party, a Challenge Block contest and a "Sew & Tell" at the farewell party. You will also have the opportunity to perfect your quilting skills. There are a wide variety of classes from which to choose, taught by two award-winning instructors: Jess Finn of Paper Pieces in Paducah, Kentucky and Irene Blanck, a renowned EPP teacher from Australia.

Soak up some sunshine

We will visit the most beautiful ports in Mexico: Cabo San Lucas with it's famed El Arco or Arch and laid back, fun atmosphere; Puerto Vallarta, with it's colonial charm and wonderful Malecon (beach boardwalk) where you can purchase many locally handmade crafts and gifts; and Mazatlan where there really is something for everyone, from golfing, fishing and zip lining to sampling agave-based spirits on a distillery tour, or learning more about local history at the archaeological museum.

Mexico also keeps visitors' appetites sated; thanks to the city's coastal locations, seafood is freshly caught, and shrimp-based dishes are a particular specialty in local restaurants. And if you can't head home without a souvenir, there's locally made liquor or handmade crafts that can fit neatly into your luggage.

What a great way to take a break from everyday life before the long winter months, while enjoying 5 star service and the company of fellow quilters.

This unique opportunity to learn EPP in a fun and relaxed atmosphere is sure to be an experience you will always remember!

For all of you that have sailed with us before – welcome back! For those of you that are new to the fabulous experience of quilting at sea, we look forward to getting to know you and creating lasting memories.

Consider bringing a friend, your spouse or your family – non-quilters are always welcome to join us and will have many activities to pursue while you are in class. We hope you can join us!

Best wishes,
Jess Finn, Irene Blanck and all the great people at Paper Pieces!
