June Colburn
The Dye-able Wardrobe
From thrift shop find to one-of-a-kind! Turn a bland silk blouse into a wardrobe wonder by over-dyeing and silk screening it! June’s trunk show of blouses, jackets and scarves will inspire you to revive old clothes by giving them a new look. Bring a silk blouse to over-dye and embellish with silk screened motifs and smaller items such as a silk or rayon scarf, shawl or fabric purse to update. June will also have vintage haori (kimono jacket) blanks available.

Rosemary Eichorn
Scrumptious Scarf
Make a scrumptious scarf using your most delicious yarns, threads and silky scraps using the magic of free motion stitching and water soluble stabilizer. Rosemary begins your session by demonstrating a method free motion stitching that will help you know your sewing machine’s capabilities in taming those gorgeous novelty threads that are so abundant on today’s market. Then she’ll turn you loose to satisfy your creative urge to use those beautiful yarns that you’ve been hording. Your scarf will be ready to stitch, using either free motion stitching or normal straight stitching by the session’s end. You’ll have time while we’re at sea to finish it up and wear when you leave the ship.

Barbara Randle
“Precious” Handbag
In this class you will crazy quilt using the techniques in Barbara’s books, Crazy Quilting With Attitude, and More Crazy Quilting With Attitude. We will use machine embellishments so we can get instant gratification and learn the simplest of purse construction techniques. This is the perfect accessory for that special outfit. This “Little Jewel” is 8 ½” wide and 9 ½” tall; it has a mitered bottom that is 3” X 5 ½”. It is Crazy Quilted on the front; the back is three horizontal strips stitched and flipped on a foundation. It has yarn and decorative threads as embellishment. There is a striped band around the top which is separated from the quilted parts by fabulous ribbon trim and the handle is a double woven cord. The “icing on the cake,” or we could call it the centerpiece, is the “hickey-doodle;” that thing that hangs down the front, serves no purpose, and is just CUTE. A magnetic snap keeps the top closed.
