Historic Boston & Cambridge

Enjoy a full day tour to historic Boston and Cambridge. En route, snap a photo of America's oldest commissioned warship, the USS Constitution, launched in 1797 and nicknamed Old Ironsides. Enjoy many of Boston's historic highlights as you drive past the Public Garden with its century-old swan boats and, entering Old Boston, visit the Old North Church, where Revere ordered two lanterns hung to signal "One if by land, two if by sea." Follow the Freedom Trail past the gold dome of the Massachusetts State House, whose cornerstone was laid by Samuel Adams and Paul Revere in 1795, King's Chapel Burial Ground, and the Old South Meeting House where colonists gathered on the eve of the Boston Tea Party. Continue past the Old State House and site of the Boston Massacre. See the balcony from which the Declaration of Independence was read on July 18, 1776. At Quincy Market in Faneuil Hall, you will have approximately two hours to purchase lunch on your own at one of the many restaurants, and for additional independent sightseeing. Your scenic drive continues through Boston's Back Bay district and along Newbury Street. Cross the Charles River to Cambridge to see New England-style red brick buildings, cafés and book stores. Disembark your coach in Harvard Square and stroll past the hallowed halls of America's oldest and most prestigious university before a one-hour drive back to Gloucester.
