Pick a pattern from the book or use the image Alex designed especially for our East Coast adventure!

During the afternoon session you will learn to master the art of traditional hand quilting as you stitch a small whole cloth wall hanging (or extra large pillow). Whether you are left or right handed, tips and techniques will be taught to learn the “rocking stitch”. In addition , you will see how easy it is to quilt in all directions using your thumb! Once the stitch is mastered, your quilting time will double. All the basics from batting to threads will be discussed and one on one attention will be given to either learn or improve your stitch.

CLASS NOTE:
Holding a quilt seminar on a cruise ship is a unique experience. Sometimes there are space and time challenges that prevent our being able to be “project oriented” and we must concentrate more on process. It is very unlikely that you will have an absolutely finished project at the end of a class. It is helpful if your expectations match these realities. But regardless of how far you are able to progress, our instructors are professionals—some of the best in the quilting world – and we know you will have a wonderful experience!

The ms Veendam has a conference center so we will have a special place for our classes as well as for our onboard quilt shop.  Lucy and Eddie Mansfield, owners of The Quilt Scene in Miami, Florida will be operating our "Quilt Scene At Sea" quilt shop during our cruise.
