Frieda Anderson

Under the SeaWhat lies beneath the waves? In a tropical ocean there are plenty of seaweed and sea life to inspire our imaginations. Brightly colored fish, easy flowing sea grass and oceanic bubbles liven this water filled scene. Using fused hand dyed fabrics in soothing and calm colors makes for a fantastical project that will complement any decor. This pattern requires you to let go and be creative. Using organic shapes and free expressive cutting, you will create an improvisational collage using strip fusing elements and design elements to assemble this one of a kind wall hanging. Fusing allows for endless possibilities with easy construction of shapes and details that will open the doors of creativity for you. The use of decorative rotary cutter blades, such as the wavy and pinking blades, enhance the design process. Join Frieda for the perfect project to make at sea!

The quilt, which finishes at 60" x 72" can be made scrappy or with controlled colors. Red and white anyone?

Class notes: Holding a quilt seminar on a cruise ship is a unique experience. Sometimes there are space and time challenges that prevent our being able to be "project oriented" and we must concentrate more on process. It is very unlikely that you will have an absolutely finished project at the end of a class. It is helpful if your expectations match these realities. But regardless of how far you are able to progress, our instructors are professionals—some of the best in the quilting world—and we know you will learn many new techniques and have a wonderful experience!
