SENSATIONAL
SASHIKO
FRIDAY ALL DAY
A non-traditional approach to a traditional needle art form. Sharon’s
theory is that if it can be done by hand, it can be done by machine and
sashiko is no exception. Originating as the “common” man’s
garment decoration, sashiko has been adopted by quilters to add exciting
designs to their quilt tops and garments. Using your sewing machine and
heavy weight thread, learn how to achieve this stunning embellishment
on either a single thickness of fabric or through a quilt “sandwich”.
Sewing machines will be provided for this class. Skill Level: All Levels

lasting heirloom to be passed along. Lots of smiles, inspiration and fun

CLASS NOTE:
Holding a quilt seminar on a cruise ship is a unique experience. Sometimes there
are space and time challenges that prevent our being able to be “project
oriented” and we must concentrate more on process. It is very unlikely
that you will have an absolutely finished project at the end of a class. It
is helpful if your expectations match these realities. But regardless of how
far you are able to progress, our instructors are professionals—some of
the best in the quilting world – and we know you will have a wonderful
experience!
