Charlotte Warr Andersen - Salt
Lake City, Utah
Charlotte
is a lifetime native of Salt Lake City, and since 1983 her specialty has been
one-of-a-kind, original pictorial quilts made with either/both appliqué
and piecing techniques. Charlotte’s quilts have won many prestigious awards;
among them second place in the first Great American Quilt Contest in honor of
the Statue of Librty Centennial, several first places at the American Quilter’s
Society Show, and two Best of Shows at the Houston International Quilt Festival.
Wearable art is another of Charlotte’s many talents and her garments have
been part of the Fairfield Fashion Shows for six years. Two of her garments
have won awards at the AQS Style Show. Charlotte teaches and lectures nationally
and internationally and she has authored two books explaining her pictorial
appliqué technique, Focus on Features—Life-like Portrayals
in Appliqué and Faces & Places—Images in Appliqué.

Karen
Kay Buckley - Carlisle, Pennsylvania
Karen
began quilting in 1983, and in April of 1986 won her first quilting award in
a J.C.Penney quilt block contest. Karen’s block was joined with fifteen
others and exhibited at the Great American Quilt Show in New York City. In the
fall of 1986 Karen opened her own quilt shop, The Country Quilt Shop in Philadelphia,
and it was a huge success. Karen entered her first major quilt competition in
1991. The “Dragon” quilt received many awards and was the start
of Karen winning many local and national awards including seven Best of Show
awards. She has published five books: “From Basics To Binding: A Complete
Guide To Making Quilts”, “Above & Beyond Basics”,
“Love to Quilt...Bears, Bears, Bears”, “Applique
Basics: Flower Wreaths", and her newest book "Earthly Delights,
The Perfect Finish." Karen has had thirteen quilts appear on the cover
of major magazines. She is very passionate about what she does, loves designing
her quilts and sharing tips and tricks with all her students.

Linda
Jenkins - Tulsa, Oklahoma
Linda
Jenkins and Becky Goldsmith formed Piece O’ Cake Designs in 1994. They
met at their local quilt guild in Tulsa four years earlier. Quilting began as
a hobby for both of them around 1984. Their hobby has now turned into a full
time and very fulfilling career! They have published twenty books and one-hundred
fifty patterns. They have also designed nine fabric collections using clear
colors, have appeared on four episodes of Simply Quilts, won numerous
awards and frequently appear in magazine articles. Linda states that she wishes
she had started quilting even earlier in life! She loves all aspects of quilting,
but fell in love with needle turn hand appliqué, and students love her
simple techniques.

Sharon Pederson - Black
Creek, B.C. Canada
Sharon
Pederson was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. She has been an
accomplished quilting instructor for the past fifteen years and is the author
of three books: Reversible Quilts, More Reversible Quilts and Sensational
Sashiko– all published by Martingale & Co. Sharon has taught
at most of the major quilt shows in North America and has expended her “territory”
to include Great Britain. She is known for her technique in creating wonderful
reversible quilts. She has appeared on Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson
and has had articles in several magazines. Sharon’s philosophy is that
you can do anything by machine, and you should have fun doing it. You can always
tell which classroom is hers by the gales of laughter coming from it!

Mary Lou Weidman - Spokane,
Washington
Mary
Lou has always had an interest in art and working with her hands. After making
many pieced quilts, she developed her own folk style of story quilts telling
about people, places and wonderful things she saw that touched her heart. In
1997 Mary Lou wrote her first book Whimsies and Whynots-A Playful Approach
to Quiltmaking (published by Martingale) and painted and designed her first
line of fabrics. In 1998, she wrote Everyday Angels in Extraordinary Quilts
(published by Martingale) and designed another line of bright and whimsical
fabrics. In 2001, she wrote her newest book Quilted Memories/Celebrations
of Life (published by C&T). Mary Lou also owns a pattern company, and
teaches nationally and internationally. Her philosophy is that life is a celebration
and quilting can help celebrate life’s finest moments.
