OPTIONAL TOURS

In addition to three full days of quilting with our four talented teachers, we are offering the following optional tours to add to the enjoyment of this special retreat.  We selected these tours so that you would have the opportunity to experience more of the Hawaiian history and culture by visiting Pearl Harbor or the Polynesian Cultural Center or by attending such events as an authentic luau and/or a Polynesian show.  In addition, on the last day of our retreat we have arranged a special quilt shop tour that will include lunch at the exclusive Outrigger Canoe Club. As an added plus to this tour, we believe the timing may be right to also attend the local guild’s annual quilt show!

Please review the following descriptions of the tours, complete the tour registration form and return the form to us either via an e-mail attachment, a fax or by mail.  The tours will be filled on a first come basis so please return your registration as soon as possible.

THE FOLLOWING TOURS ARE PLANNED FOR WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29

QUILTER’S SHOPPING AND SHOW TOUR

A motorcoach will pick us up at our retreat location, the Hilton Waikiki Prince Kuhio Hotel, and take us to Calico Cat Quilt Shop (across the street from a great bead shop) and Kaimuki Dry Goods, both are small, quaint stores with fabrics and craft supplies.  Next, we will stop at Bernina of Hawaii on our way to the local Hawaii Guild quilt show!  The show is a mixture of Hawaiian, Japanese and traditional styles.   Then we will stop at Fabric Mart on our way back to Waikiki and the exclusive private Outrigger Canoe Club where we will enjoy the great ocean front views while enjoying the special menu prepared just for our group before returning to our hotel.  This custom “quilter’s tour” will be a great opportunity to shop for those special Hawaiian fabrics along with your new friends from the retreat.
