SUE NICKELS Ann Arbor, MI

Sue NickelsSue has been quilting for 28 years, starting by hand and gradually focusing on machine work. Sue has been teaching machine techniques for the past 18 years. Sue has taught and lectured nationally for shops, guilds and major conferences, including AQS, IQA and NQA. She has also taught internationally in England, Norway and Spain. Sue's major awards include 1998 AQS Best of Show for "The Beatles Quilt" made by Sue and her sister, Pat Holly. Their quilt, "The Space Quilt" won the 2003 IQA Master of Machine Artistry Award and the 2004 AQS Machine Workmanship Award. Sue books include Machine Quilting: A Primer of Techniques and her newest book Stitched Raw Edge Appliqué is co-authored with Pat and was released in February 2006. Sue's priority in the workshops she teaches is to provide a relaxed environment for students to learn machine techniques that are timesaving. PAULA NADELSTERN Bronx, NY

Paula NadelsternPaula Nadelstern's award-winning quilts have been exhibited internationally, in solo exhibits mounted at The American Folk Art Museum in NYC (April-Sept 09), The Museum of the American Quilters Society, Houston International Quilt Festival, in New York City and Japan, on television shows and online websites, and in books and magazines. Her work was included in the Twentieth Century's 100 Best American Quilts, a prestigious exhibit mounted for the millennium. Paula is the author of Paula Nadelstern's Kaleidoscope Quilts, Puzzle Quilts: Simple Blocks, Complex Fabric, Kaleidoscopes & Quilts and Snowflakes & Quilts. She was a recipient of fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts in 1995 and 2001, and from The Bronx Council on the Arts in 1996. STEVII GRAVES Leesburg, VA

Stevii GravesStevii has been involved with quilt making since 1975 and has been a juror and judge for competitions throughout the U.S. She has been the judging coordinator for Road to California since 2002. Stevii is a past President of the California Heritage Quilt Project, has served as President of Quilt San Diego/Visions and on the boards of several quilt guilds. Her quilts have been published in numerous books and magazines as well as having been exhibited both nationally and internationally. She has edited two Visions catalogues and is the co-author of Contemporary Quilting, which was released in the spring of 2005. She currently lives in Leesburg, Virginia with her husband, Randy. Her three children live close by, as do her three grandchildren. LINDA POOL Vienna, VA

Linda PoolLinda has been quilting since 1977, and has taught classes and lectured quilting techniques, in varied areas of interest, since 1982. Linda was a winner in three of the Great American Quilt contests sponsored by The Museum of American Folk Art in New York City, including being the Virginia state winner in "Memories of Childhood" crib quilt contest, with a special award for the most imaginative use of detail. She has won various other awards and ribbons in major shows around the country and has had several of her quilts displayed in foreign countries. Her quilts have made numerous appearances in quilting books and magazines along with several articles and pattern instructions written by Linda. Linda wrote a chapter for two of the Rodale books in the Successful Quilting Library, including Quilting with the Experts. Linda is the maker of "The Bride", "The Greatest Moments of a Girl's Life" and "Linda's Lace", quilts that have won her some notice in the quilt world. Linda was a member of the staff of the Jinny Beyer Hilton Head Island Quilting Seminar for 10 years and has taught at numerous quilt shows and guilds, including International Quilt Festival in Houston, TX. DARLENE CHRISTOPHERSON China Springs,TX

Darlene ChristophersonDarlene Christopherson has been an accomplished quiltmaker since 1979 and has had her work published in the books: "More Vertical Set Quilts with Style" [AQS] by Bobbie Aug & Sharon Newman. Sensational Scrap Quilts by Darra Duffy Williamson, Patchwork Portfolio by Jinny Beyer, Soft-Edge Piecing by Jinny Beyer, Great American Quilts Book 5 and Scrap Quilts fast and fun by Oxmoor House. Darlene taught on the staff of the Jinny Beyer Hilton Head Seminar for 5 years 1987-1992 and has been teaching and lecturing for guilds and large events since about 1990. Darlene teaches hand appliqué piecing and quilting as well as design classes. Fabric selection is discussed in every class as the result of her beautiful quilts. Attention and patient guidance is given to all students. Years of experience have developed time honored techniques and an understanding of the elements of design and their importance to quilt making. Many guilds have hosted Darlene's programs and workshops. Darlene has contributed to the success of many events such as the International Quilt Festival in Houston, AQS in Paducah, and Nashville, Quilt America! in Indianapolis, the Pennsylvania Extravaganza in Ft. Washington, PA, Road to California, Quilter's Heritage Celebration in Lancaster, Minnesota Quilter's Inc. Shows, the NQA Show, Georgia Quilt Council and Quilt Colorado.
