Laura Wasilowski is a textile artist, author, teacher, and creator of hand dyed fabrics and threads. She combines vivid fabrics and whimsical stories to make pictorial art quilts. Laura's colorful, hand-dyed fabrics inspire her, as do stories of her family, friends, and home. Her work has been featured in many exhibits throughout the United States as well as Europe and Asia. Laura is the author of two books: Fuse and Tell Journal Quilts and Fusing Fun: Fast, Fearless Art Quilts and a DVD: Laura Wasilowski Teaches You to Create Art Quilts. Christine Porter – Bristol, England
Christine teaches and lectures throughout Britain and the US where she is also a quilt show judge and she has won awards for her quilts in both locales. She has been the co-editor of Patchwork & Quilting magazine, which is Britain's first and leading quilting magazine. In this role, she wrote many articles and did the book and new product reviews. Christine was the founder of the Cabot Quilting Conferences held throughout the UK that brought top American and other international quilters to the UK, enabling British quilters to learn from some of the best in the world. Her first book, Quilt Designs from Decorative Floor Tiles, was released in 2003. This was followed by her second book, Tessellation Quilts, in May 2006. Her quilts have been featured in books by Joen Wolfrom and she also designs patterns for Joen's company, JWD Publishing. Melinda Bula – El Dorado Hills, CA
Melinda Bula lives in El Dorado Hills, California and has been sewing since she was a young girl. Melinda has been in love with fabric all of her life and knew when she was 16 years old that she was going to be an artist, which became her major in college. Soon she was off to Hawaii as a flight attendant, a real job that lasted 8 years, and met her husband during this time in the San Francisco Bay Area. She worked in the interior design field for 15 years as a fabric and wallpaper designer. She and her husband, Joe, started their own wallpaper and fabric design business soon after the birth of their son, Matthew, in 1988. The company, Melinda Bula Designs, sold their hand silk-screened wallpapers and fabrics nationwide. Melinda's wallpaper and fabric designs have been featured on the covers of Better Homes and Garden magazine as well as Sunset design books in addition to other noted publications. Since moving to the Sacramento area in 1996, she has been involved in quilting and wearable arts, which has always been her first love. Her sense of color and design has won her numerous awards for both quilts and wearable arts. Her wearable arts are dynamic and modern and she loves to experiment with new techniques. Her Fabulous Fusible Flowers quilts are unique. With the wonderful look of a painting, she uses fabric and thread to create beautifully artistic quilts. She has been lecturing and teaching, both in the United States and internationally, which she really loves and has been featured on The Quilt Show. Creating and designing is an obsession with Melinda and whether it is fabric, wallpaper, or quilts, it is her passion. Kimberly Einmo is an author, international quilting instructor and quilt judge. She has written three books, Quilt A Travel Souvenir and the #1 best-selling book in 2010, Jelly Roll Quilts & More, published by the American Quilter's Society. Her third book, Jelly Roll Quilt Magic was just released in September, 2011. She has written many articles and designed original patterns which have appeared in numerous publications including McCall's Quilting and Quick Quilts Magazines, American Quilter Magazine, Quilters' Home Magazine, Japanese Patchwork Tsushin Magazine, and Irish Quilting Magazine.
